“When I Am Afraid”
Fear is a common emotion that predicts the future to be threatening to us. Fear may paralyze us from acting by faith to fulfill our duties and responsibilities.

I. Acknowledging Fear –
A. Fears face reality –
1. Saul threatened David’s life –

B. Enemies oppress all the day –
1. The wicked are cowards and hunt the righteous in packs –
2. Jesus’ enemies tried to ensnare Him –
C. Who is this that says, “Do not be afraid”?
1. He is the One who has authority over the wind and the waves, the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

II. Remembering the Lord –
A. You put my tears in a bottle –
1. And write them in a book –
2. He is with us in tribulation and affliction –
B. My enemies will turn back –
1. What can anyone do to me?
2. God’s Word promises our victory –
3. Can tribulation separate us from God? But isn’t tribulation our glory?
III. Worshipping Our Deliverer –
A. Vows guide us in time of trouble –
1. We take vows as worship knowing that it will be difficult to fulfill our commitment –

B. You deliver my soul from death –
1. Our hope is a living hope –
2. Our God is able to keep you from falling –
Not fear, but faith leads to living life in the presence of God.
